Poem for a sixteen year old

11/15/19 23:21 East Northport

Raw lips bleed like a flared blister
Ghosts inhabit the mind and take up their rituals
Haunting the present, enveloping the halls in a California school
Was it Florida?  The sun settles on the patches of caked blood
Rippling flags
Vultures are attracted to their reflection
